RN - Acute Care

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts with day/night/weekend/holiday rotation from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, Stroke Certification (AHA or RQI only), NYS RN Licensure, NIHSS
• Minimum one year acute hospital experience as a registered professional nurse required
• Two years emergency department experience preferred
• Apply nursing theory, technical, and communication skills in delivering high-quality compassionate care
• Assess patient needs and identify urgent or emergent care priorities
• Perform triage using ESI standards and assign priority of care for patients of all age groups
• Conduct primary and secondary assessments, detecting major deviations from normal conditions
• Utilize invasive and non-invasive procedures, treatments, and therapeutic interventions
• Manage life-threatening and routine emergency situations
• Assess physiological, psychosocial, emotional, and cultural needs of patients and families
• Provide patient and family education for discharge planning and home care continuation
• Maintain patient communication boards and provide frequent updates throughout ED stay
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to achieve optimal patient outcomes
