RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Opportunity:

RN - CVICU

Job Details:

• Work in 19-bed mixed CVICU/CVRU unit with 1:2 or 1:1 patient ratios depending on acuity
• Holdover downgraded patients may be 1:3 ratio
• Arrive to unit ready for work no earlier than 7 minutes prior to shift start at 6:45 AM
• Work every other weekend with extra days off in contract
• Overtime must be approved by CNCs
• Must have 2 years CVICU or CVRU experience
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and critical care training
• Preferred certifications in critical care, cardiac surgery, or recovery room care
• Perform typical procedures including IABP, Impella, hemodynamics, chest tube removal, pacer wire removal, LVAD care, intubation/extubation
• Float to all ICUs, stepdown units, and other units as needed
• Work with GE monitors and Cerner EMR system
• Dress code requires navy blue or white scrubs, nursing shoes, hair off shoulder, no fake nails
• Must demonstrate high energy, upbeat personality with love for surgical heart care
• Safety policy requires second nurse guidance for unfamiliar procedures

Facility:

This healthcare facility features a specialized cardiovascular intensive care unit located on the 3rd floor of the Heart Tower. The facility performs approximately 850 heart surgeries per year and maintains a highly trained team including CVICU/CVRU charge nurses and dedicated educators for orientation. The unit operates with advanced cardiac care capabilities including ECMO team support and specialized equipment for high-acuity cardiac patients, emphasizing excellent patient care in a collaborative environment.
