RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work in emergency department with 25 procedure rooms, 8 hallway beds, and 4-bed psychiatric annex
• Patient ratio of 4:1 with flexibility during acute surge situations
• Minimum 2 years emergency department experience required for contract positions
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC
• Every other weekend schedule required
• No floating to other units
• Work with ultrasound IV skills, Lucas Device, Hotline Rapid Infuser, Alaris pumps, and Pyxis
• Use Sunrise/Allscripts EMR system
• Scrub attire required - no hooded shirts or sweatshirts for safety reasons
• Follow RN protocols based on chief complaints for initial patient care
• Authorized to order labs, EKGs, x-rays, and medications per protocol
• Handle diverse patient population including multiple comorbidities, heart conditions, DKA, sepsis, trauma, and stroke patients
• Perform typical procedures including trauma care, stroke care, laceration repair, orthopedic trauma, ultrasound IV insertion, IO insertion, eye exams, EKGs, psychiatric care, and cardiopulmonary care
• Strong communication skills, assessment abilities, critical thinking, and dependability required
