RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work on 9 Tower Surgical unit with 36 beds and 1:5 patient ratios
• 40 RNs total with 8 bedside RNs per shift
• Day shift includes 8 RNs, 1 Charge RN, 1 Unit Secretary, 1 Manager, 1 CNC
• Night shift includes 8 RNs
• Fast-paced unit with short length of stay requiring excellent time management and efficiency
• Strong teamwork skills essential
• Background in post-op surgical areas preferred (vascular, bariatric, urology, general surgery, colorectal)
• Perform maintenance of post-op surgical procedure sites and comprehensive wound care
• Manage wound vac maintenance, packing, and dressing changes
• Provide Foley catheter care including continuous bladder irrigation
• Handle ostomy appliance changes and maintenance
• Perform nasogastric tube insertion and suction
• Administer TPN and blood products
• Maintain central line care and dressing changes
• Participate in bedside shift reporting
• Work with bariatric fitted ADLs, wound vacs, drains, and lifts
• Use Meditech EMR system
• Float to other medical-surgical units as needed
• Required certification: BLS
• Dress code requires black, grey, white, or royal blue scrubs
• Must maintain prompt attendance, open communication, professional appearance, and be attentive to patient needs
• Outgoing, customer service oriented personality preferred
