RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

RN - PCU

Job Details:

• Work 3 twelve-hour shifts per week with every other weekend requirement
• Patient ratios of 1:4 to 1:5 on days, 1:5 to 1:6 on nights
• Unit offers self-scheduling with 4-week schedule blocks
• Required to wear black scrubs
• May float between PCU units or to medical-surgical floors
• Work with equipment including bipaps, high flow oxygen, vapotherm, alaris pumps, cardiac drips, heparin drips, insulin drips, and peritoneal dialysis
• Handle wound vacs in conjunction with wound care team
• Use Meditech documentation system
• Perform hourly rounding on days and every 2-hour rounding on nights
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS
• Must have critical thinking skills, EKG rhythm interpretation, and experience with cardiac, insulin, and heparin drips
• Peripheral IV skills required and peritoneal dialysis experience preferred
• Experience needed with stroke care, post cardiac catheterization care, tube feedings, and NG/dobhoff tubes
• Procedures performed include peritoneal dialysis, thoracentesis, paracentesis, chest tube insertions, dobhoff/NG tube insertions, and central line dressing changes
• Unit has 34 beds (630) and 25 beds (633) with 3 techs and 2 techs respectively when fully staffed
