RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Minimum 2 years Emergency Department experience required for contract labor
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC
• Patient ratio of 4:1 with flexibility during acute surge situations
• Work every other weekend
• No floating to other units
• Dress code requires scrubs with no hooded shirts or sweatshirts for safety reasons
• Work with policy-written protocols based on chief complaints
• Authorized to order complete work-ups including labs, EKGs, x-rays, and medications following protocol-based initial patient care
• Equipment includes ultrasound IV skills, Lucas Device, Hotline Rapid Infuser, Alaris pumps, and Pyxis
• Electronic medical record system: Sunrise/Allscripts
• Typical procedures include trauma care, stroke care, laceration repair, orthopedic trauma, ultrasound IV insertion, IO insertion, eye exams, EKGs, psychiatric care, and cardiopulmonary care
• Must demonstrate adaptability, strong communication skills, excellent assessment abilities, dependability, punctuality, and critical thinking skills
• Strong understanding of medical terminology required
• EKG interpretation skills preferred

This healthcare facility operates a comprehensive Emergency Department with 25 procedure rooms, 4 beds in a secure psychiatric annex, and 8 hallway beds utilized 24/7. The department staffs 88 combined healthcare professionals and serves patients with multiple comorbidities including complex heart conditions through their specialized cardiac institute, as well as DKA, sepsis, trauma, and stroke cases. The facility maintains modern medical equipment and follows evidence-based protocols to ensure high-quality emergency care delivery.
