RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in hospital setting required
• Must have active VA/Compact license at submission
• Work on 6 Front Telemetry, Med Surg, Trauma unit located on 6th floor of main hospital
• 33-bed unit with 55 staff members
• Patient ratios of 5 to 6:1
• Day shift includes 1 charge nurse, unit secretary, 7-8 RNs, and 2-3 PCTs
• Night shift includes 1 charge nurse, unit secretary, 7-8 RNs, and 2 PCTs
• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS
• Must pass Basic Rhythm test
• Work with equipment including EKG, code cart, Welch Allyn vital machines, vascular Doppler, wound vacs, Cultura Link interpreting services, and Carescape monitors for rhythm monitoring at bedside when administering push medications
• Use Meditech EMR system
• Perform typical procedures including small I&Ds, peritoneal dialysis, and thoracentesis (occasionally)
• Medical surgical experience preferred
• Must wear navy scrubs, no cotton jackets allowed
• Dress code strictly enforced
• High energy and positive attitude essential for success
