Travel or Local Allied Healthcare Professional needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Opportunity:

Radiation Therapist - Radiation Therapist

Job Details:

• Work Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• Administer radiation therapy as prescribed by Radiation Oncologist
• Position patients properly for accurate delivery of radiation treatment using immobilization devices
• Perform daily warm-up of treatment machines and enter information in logbooks
• Check simulator for proper operation and report any issues
• Conduct patient simulations and produce acceptable radiographs
• Maintain audio and visual contact with patients at all times
• Explain treatment procedures and potential adverse reactions to patients
• Schedule patients for daily treatments and maintain treatment marks
• Perform portal localization films weekly or as prescribed
• Complete weekly chart checks to ensure prescription compliance
• Maintain treatment and simulation rooms in neat, orderly condition
• Transport hospital patients to department and assist as necessary
• Interact with patients of all age groups from newborns through geriatrics
• Must have ARRT certification and BLS certification through American Heart Association
• Must have experience using Elekta equipment
• Strong interpersonal communication skills required
• Attend all required hospital and departmental inservice programs
