RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Opportunity:

RN - MICU

Job Details:

• Work in a 31-bed Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU)
• Patient ratios typically 2:1, sometimes 1:1 or 3:1 depending on acuity and staffing
• Minimum weekend requirement is 4 weekend shifts per schedule
• Scheduling done in 4-week increments with self-scheduling to an extent
• Manager may move shifts to balance schedule
• Contract labor is first to float, expected to float to med/surg when needed
• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS
• Must have active RN license and ICU experience
• Work with advanced equipment including ventilators, EVDs, CRRT, SLED, and EV 1000
• Use Meditech documentation system
• Participate in procedures such as central line insertions, arterial lines, lumbar punctures, chest tube insertions, and EVD insertions
• Provide attentive and compassionate care to patients and family members
• Unit secretary staffed during day shift with occasional nurse extern working as tech
• Required uniform: Navy scrubs, tops and bottoms
