RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Provide nursing care for medical/surgical/telemetry patients on 3 West unit
• Care for 4-6 patients at a time with maximum patient ratio of 6:1
• 22-bed unit with 30 staff members
• Work with day shift staffing of 1 charge nurse, 5 RNs, 2 PCAs, 1 unit secretary, and 0-2 sitters
• Night shift staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 4 RNs, 1-2 PCAs, and 0-2 sitters
• 2+ years of acute med/surg/tele experience within the last year required
• 2+ years neurosurgery/ortho nursing experience preferred
• Care for med/surg/tele ortho and neurosurgery patients
• Perform standard nursing skills including IV insertions, urinary catheter insertion/maintenance, central line maintenance, medication administration
• Communicate with all members of care team and complete documentation in electronic health record
• Use Meditech EMR system and standard equipment
• Float to other med/surg/tele units as needed
• Weekend shifts as needed
• Must maintain friendly, positive, patient-centered, and team-focused approach
• Scrubs required for dress code
• Valid RN license required
