RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Must have post-operative or vascular background experience
• Prior cardiovascular critical care experience required
• Stepdown and telemetry experience required
• Patient ratio of 1:5 patients per RN
• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS
• Work with cardiovascular progressive care unit serving post-op cardiac surgery and vascular surgery patients
• Patient population includes open heart surgery patients (CABG, AVR, MVR, Bentall, TAVR), thoracic lung surgery (lobectomy, thoracotomy), esophagogastrectomy, AAA repair, fem-pop bypass, carotid endarterectomies
• Also care for medical cardiology patients with heart failure, DKA, chest pain, sepsis, heart block
• Perform procedures including epidural management, chest tube management, tube feedings, IV glucommander, cardiac drip management
• Work with equipment including Baxter IV pumps, CADD epidural pumps, various lifts
• Use Cerner EMR system
• Float to stepdown units (1:5 ratios), medical surgical units (1:6-7 ratios), or ER inpatient holding area (1:6)
• Minimum 6 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule period
• No on-call responsibilities
• Must be flexible to work holidays
• Dress code: All navy, white tops/navy bottoms, or all white scrubs
• Must be team player who enjoys fast-paced environment and demonstrates flexibility
