Travel or Local Allied Healthcare Professional needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Perfusionist - Perfusionist

Job Details:

• Work Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM (8-hour shifts)
• Arrive 30 minutes before scheduled surgery for equipment set-up
• Full-time position with 5 days per week schedule
• Maintain and operate cardiopulmonary pump, Cell Saver, autotransfuser and intra-aortic balloon pump during invasive cardiovascular procedures
• Operate life support equipment for patients undergoing open-heart surgery
• Set up and operate left and/or right heart bypass pumps
• Operate extracorporeal membrane oxygenation and artificial heart console systems
• Set up and operate Intra-Aortic Balloon Pumping system
• Demonstrate knowledge of heparin, protamine, anticoagulation-titration analysis systems
• Set up and operate Auto transfusion equipment for cardiovascular, orthopedic, and vascular procedures
• Assist in IABP insertion in OR, Cardiac Cath Lab, ICU and other areas
• Ensure heart-lung machines are cleaned and maintained per manufacturer recommendations
• Required: Completion of accredited perfusionist program
• Required: BLS certification (AHA only)
• Required: Texas state perfusionist licensure
• Preferred: 3 years of experience
• Preferred: Board eligible or certified by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion
• Open to new graduates with temp to perm option available
