Travel or Local Allied Healthcare Professional needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Perfusionist - Perfusionist

Job Details:

• Work Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM
• Arrive 30 minutes before scheduled surgery for equipment set-up
• Full-time position working 8-hour shifts, 5 days per week
• Maintain and operate cardiopulmonary pump, Cell Saver, autotransfuser, and intra-aortic balloon pump during invasive cardiovascular procedures
• Operate life support equipment for patients undergoing open-heart surgery, specifically the cardiopulmonary bypass machine
• Set up and operate left and/or right heart bypass pumps and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation systems
• Demonstrate knowledge of heparin, protamine, and anticoagulation-titration analysis systems
• Serve in advisory capacity to surgeons for cardiac drug administration
• Set up and operate auto transfusion equipment for cardiovascular, orthopedic, and vascular surgical procedures
• Assist with IABP insertion in OR, Cardiac Cath Lab, ICU, and other areas as required
• Ensure heart-lung machines are cleaned and maintained per manufacturer recommendations
• Complete perfusionist program from accredited institution required
• 3 years of experience preferred, open to new graduates
• BLS certification required (AHA only)
• Texas state perfusionist licensure required
• Board eligibility or certification by American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion preferred
• Temp to perm option available
