RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work 3-12 hour shifts with every other weekend rotation or 4-week shift schedule
• Provide care for cardiac step-down patients from CSSU and IVCU, medical/surgical telemetry, and stroke overflow
• Maintain 5:1 patient ratio on a 20-bed cardiac medical unit
• Cannot accept patients post cardiac catheterization lab unless radial artery was used
• Care for patients with chest pain rule out, CHF, COPD cardiac management, chest tubes, hi-flow and Bi-pap
• Assist with procedures including thoracentesis, peritoneal dialysis, tracheostomies, pacemakers, cardiac catheterization, and CIWA protocols
• Work with equipment including IV pumps, Sara Steady devices, hi-flow oxygen, BiPAP, and Kangaroo pumps
• Use Meditech Expanse documentation system
• Participate in bedside shift rounds and handoff protocols
• Must be proficient in telemetry monitoring
• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS
• Professional dress code required
• Work as part of a 4-RN team with free charge nurse, 2 LNAs, and unit clerk
