Travel or Local Allied Healthcare Professional needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Radiation Therapist - Radiation Therapist

Job Details:

• Work Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• Administer radiation therapy as prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist
• Provide patient care for all age groups from newborns through geriatrics
• Position patients properly for accurate delivery of radiation treatment using immobilization devices
• Perform daily warm-up of treatment machines and enter information in logbooks
• Conduct simulator checks and report any operational problems
• Produce acceptable radiographs for simulation procedures
• Maintain audio and visual contact with patients at all times during treatment
• Schedule patients for daily treatment and ensure treatment marks are maintained
• Perform portal localization films weekly or as prescribed
• Conduct weekly chart checks to ensure prescriptions are being followed
• Help ease patient fears and explain treatment expectations and potential adverse reactions
• Transport hospital patients to department and assist as necessary
• Keep treatment and simulation rooms neat, orderly, and stocked with supplies
• Must have ARRT certification required
• BLS certification through American Heart Association required
• Experience using Elekta equipment required
• Must possess good interpersonal communication skills
• Attend all required hospital and departmental inservice programs
• $1,000 completion bonus paid upon successful completion of full assignment term
