RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work in 29-bed Progressive Care Unit with 4:1 patient ratios
• 3 weekend shifts required per 4-week schedule with self-scheduling options within reason
• Schedule finalized 2 weeks in advance with accommodation for block scheduling on night shift
• Travel RNs float first in rotation system based on oldest float date
• Perform Q6H head-to-toe assessments with full documentation in Meditech system
• Navy scrubs required as uniform
• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS
• Cardiac/telemetry experience and PCU and/or critical care experience required
• Advanced skills needed: IV insertion, chest tube management, DHT insertion/management, tracheostomy experience, CVC management, EKG, Foley management, early patient mobility
• Manage cardiac drips including Dopamine, Dobutrex, Nitro, Heparin, Cardizem, Lidocaine, Milrinone, Amiodarone, Cardene, Labetolol, Insulin, and Precedex titration
• Work with equipment including Welch Allyn dynamaps, Phillips telemetry, Phillips MP2, Pyxis, Alaris pumps, Hill-Rom beds, iMobile devices, MobiLab
• Perform procedures including Foley placement, IV insertion, wound vac management, DKA management, EKGs, DHT/NG placement, patient ambulation, ADLs
• Care for complex medical, cardiac, and surgical patients including post-operative cardiac surgery patients, sepsis, stroke, MI, heart failure, and other intermediate care conditions
