RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

RN - PCU

Job Details:

• Work in Cardiac Stepdown Unit (CSU) on the 4th floor
• 18-bed unit with 4:1 patient ratio
• Day shift staffing includes 5 RN, 1 CC, and 2 PCT (ideal)
• Night shift staffing includes 5 nurses and 1 PCT
• Must be able to read cardiac monitors and administer narcotics
• Stepdown experience and cardiac knowledge preferred
• Care for patients with CABG, valve replacement, TAVR, Mitral clip, thoracotomy, Afib, CHF, and MI
• Manage cardiac drips including Cardizem, amiodarone, heparin, and nitroglycerin
• Work with central lines, PCA pumps, Foley catheters, chest tubes, pacer wires, telemetry, and drains
• Electronic medical records system: Meditech
• Vital signs and assessments every 4 hours
• Cardiac rhythm interpretation every 4 hours
• Float to telemetry and medical surgical units as needed
• Every other weekend schedule with overtime available
• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS
• Must demonstrate team player mentality with critical thinking skills and compassionate patient care
• Dress code: All navy scrubs
