Opportunity:

RN - ED Hold

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 4 weekend shifts required per 4-week schedule
• Must work 2 of 4 major holidays
• Ability to self-schedule (subject to change)
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience required (within past 6 months)
• Strong cardiac telemetry background required, preferably 2 years
• Must pass dysrhythmia exam within 48 hours of offer through RELIAS (2 attempts maximum)
• Pass/fail simulation lab on first day of orientation
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (AHA or APEX)
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips independently
• Ability to titrate cardiac drips including Cardizem, Heparin, and Amiodarone per physician orders
• Care for ED hold patients waiting for unit placement, primarily medical/surgical and telemetry patients
• May assist with ED patients including vitals, IV starts, and medication administration
• Float to medical/surgical/telemetry/overflow units and other emergency departments as needed
• Navy scrub color required
• 2 shifts orientation to medical/surgical/telemetry at primary campus
• Chart using Cerner system
• Hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment
