Description
RN Position Job Notes:
Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.
Opportunity:
RN - Med Surg
Job Details:
• Work on K8 General Surgery unit, 8th floor of K-tower
• 44-bed unit with patient ratios of 1:6 on day shift and 1:7 on night shift
• 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule required
• Must have telemetry competency and ability to manage 6-7 patients depending on shift
• Experience with urology and bowel procedures strongly preferred as these are the two biggest patient populations
• Required certifications: BLS and telemetry
• Work with equipment including telemetry, PCA pumps, wound vacs, Baxter IV pumps, TPN, tube feeds, and urinary catheters
• EMR system: Cerner
• Perform procedures including TPN, PCA management, wound vac care, tube feeds, PEG tubes, dobhoffs, NG tubes, colostomies and urostomies
• Manage various drains including biliary, JP, nephrostomy, urinary catheters, and CBI
• Handle heparin drips and IV antibiotics
• Support post-operative care for cholecystectomies, appendectomies, bowel resections, urology surgeries, nephrectomies, hysterectomies, mastectomies, thyroidectomies, and hernia repairs
• May float to other med-surg areas as needed
• Dress code: Navy blue pants with navy blue or white scrub top, white undershirt if needed, no sweaters or hoodies allowed
• Ideal personality: positive, energetic, fast-paced, and strong communication skills with charge nurses, providers, and CNAs

I am an Adult Cardiac Sonographer and I have been traveling for almost 3 years now and pretty much all the time with ADEX Healthcare staffing. I always look around for all the options as most of travelers do, but end up with this company, because They don’t fail me! Good competitive rates and always attention. Vincent Poast is the guy you want to deal with no matter what is your experience in traveling and profession. He always explains all pros and cons of a contract. I feel like he is on my side compared to other recruiters. The most important part for me that he always answers my calls and texts no matter if it’s a weekend or after hours! Also, if he can’t help me directly, he would get a ADEX staff member who resolves an issue right the way. The whole team has been very helpful for almost 6 contracts now. Oh, and another very important thing for me that Vince never pushes to get into a contract and bothers like a lot of other recruiters that calling and texting day and night. He lets you decide what you really want !
