RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Assess patient conditions and plan and implement patient care plans
• Provide critical care for patients who have suffered heart attacks, strokes, shock, severe trauma, respiratory distress, or other severe medical issues
• Treat wounds and provide advanced life support
• Assist physicians in performing procedures
• Observe and record patient vital signs
• Ensure proper function of ventilators, monitors, and other medical equipment
• Adjust ventilator and IABP settings as needed
• Administer intravenous fluids and medications
• Perform suctioning procedures
• Collaborate with fellow critical care team members
• Respond to life-saving situations using nursing standards and protocols
• Act as patient advocate
• Provide education and support to patient families
• Care for pre- and post-operative patients
• May float to other units as needed
• Must have ACLS and BLS certifications through the American Heart Association
• California RN license required
• Position created for peak period coverage
