Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend (EOW) requirement with 2 weekends per 4-week schedule
• Night shifts available with first to float priority
• Patient ratio of 1:5 on 49-bed telemetry unit
• Must take and pass dysrhythmia exam with 80% score within two attempts prior to contract signing
• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS
• Must be able to read basic telemetry strips and interpret cardiac rhythms
• Sign telemetry strips at least once per shift
• Experience with CVA, TIA, and total joint replacement patients preferred
• Cerner charting system experience recommended (only one day of orientation provided)
• Floating requirements to East Campus and possibly PCU if qualified
• Navy blue scrub color requirement
• Care for patients with CHF, respiratory conditions, GI issues, diabetics, post-catheterization, and total joint replacement
• Work with BiPap, CPAP, and breathing treatment equipment
• Holiday requirement: work 2 days and an eve or 2 eves and a day for Christmas, New Year's, and Thanksgiving
• No call or standby requirements
• 4-week self-scheduling system balanced by manager
• Unit-specific orientation of 1 shift
• Cancellation policy: 4 shifts per contract (3 shifts if under 13 weeks)
