Mammo Tech - Mammo Tech

Job Details:

• Work Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM with Saturdays 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM as needed
• Handle average of 38 patients per day for screening mammograms and 18 per day for diagnostic procedures
• Required to float to other breast centers if needed
• Work with GE Senographe Pristina mammography equipment
• Use Cerner and Penrad documentation systems
• Perform stereotactic biopsies, pre-surgical localizations, and contrast enhanced mammography
• Must demonstrate competency in additional imaging views such as magnification and spot compression views
• Experience in advanced mammography imaging and ability to confidently present complicated mammographic cases to radiologists
• Required to wear pink top and black pants uniform
• Work in large breast center environment with approximately 10 technologists on site per day
• Current ARRT (R) and (M) Mammography certification required
• IV certification and competency in invasive and sterile procedures required
• Must have screening mammogram experience and be fully competent in advanced mammography techniques
• BLS certification required
• Must meet MQSA standards including 40 hours initial mammography training, current continuing education, up-to-date numbers (200/2 years), 8 hours digital mammo training, and 8 hours digital tomosynthesis training
• Experience working in women's imaging center with sensitivity to cancer patients' needs required

This is an 815-bed acute care facility serving as the regional referral center for tertiary and quaternary care in western North Carolina. The hospital is the only Level II trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, and children's hospital in the region. It features a 96-bed children's hospital with a 51-bed Level III Neonatal ICU and is the second busiest surgical hospital in North Carolina. Recent expansions include a new state-of-the-art patient tower with over 630,000 square feet featuring new emergency department, interventional procedural rooms, operating rooms, and 220 private patient rooms.
