Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PACU

Job Details:

• Work variable 4x10 hour shifts for 40 hours per week
• 13-week contract assignment
• Work in 14-bay PACU with 1:2 patient ratio treating approximately 35 patients per day
• Provide post-recovery care for patients following general, spine, neuro, GI, ENT, cardiac, peripheral vascular, and orthopedic surgeries
• Stabilize ICU patients before transferring to appropriate units
• Required to be on call one night per week for 4 weeks out of 6-week schedule and every 5th weekend
• Weekday call hours: 1:00 PM - 9:30 PM, then 9:30 PM - 7:30 AM the following day
• 30-minute response time for call backs required
• Weekend rotation every 5th weekend for on-call duties
• Holiday rotation required
• Must wear scrubs of any color
• 2+ years PACU experience required with recent hospital experience
• Post cardiac and pediatric experience necessary
• Epic charting experience strongly preferred; previous electronic charting experience required if no Epic background
• Required certifications: Wisconsin RN License, AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS
• Associate degree or certificate required; Bachelor's degree preferred
• Must comply with facility vaccination and masking policies during flu season
• Contract eligible for 36 hours of low census unbillable hours with potential call-back
• Must be located outside 50-mile radius of facility

The unit maintains high standards of care with appropriate nurse-to-patient ratios and serves as a critical component in the surgical continuum, including stabilization of ICU-bound patients.
