Opportunity:

RN - Stepdown

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts with 48 guaranteed hours per week
• 13-week contract with every third weekend and every other holiday required
• Three years RN experience required including one solid year of stepdown/PCU experience
• One travel assignment experience required
• Must have active compact nursing license
• Required certifications: AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS
• Recent EPIC experience required with mandatory checkoff class
• Must pass telemetry tests for tele interpretation
• Care for stepdown/PCU patient population including sepsis, CHF, COPD, DKA, cirrhosis, dementia patients
• Handle surgical patients including urology, abdominal, and orthopedic cases
• Initiate and titrate insulin, heparin, and cardiac drips
• Patient ratios: 1:5-6 on night shift
• First to float within skillset to other campuses with 2-hour notice
• Potential float to campuses 8-11 miles away
• Must wear navy blue scrubs with no competing logos
• May require precepting of students and new hires
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills essential
• 3 call-ins can result in termination
