Opportunity:

RN - Stepdown

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour day shifts on the Stepdown/Telemetry unit
• 36 guaranteed hours per week (48-hour contracts available upon request)
• 13-week contract with bi-weekly orientation starting December 29th
• Weekend requirement: Every third weekend
• Holiday requirement: Every other holiday
• Patient ratio: Days 1:4-5 patients on SDU (10 beds), 1:5-6 patients on Tele (15 beds)
• Float requirement: First to float within skillset to other campuses (Newburgh 8 miles, Gateway 11 miles) with 2-hour notice
• Care for stepdown/PCU patient population including sepsis, CHF, COPD, DKA, cirrhosis, dementia, and surgical patients
• Required certifications: Current active compact license, AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS
• Must pass telemetry interpretation tests
• Manage drips including insulin, heparin, and cardiac medications
• Recent EPIC charting experience required with mandatory checkoff class
• Minimum 2 years RN experience including 1 solid year of stepdown/PCU experience and 1 travel assignment
• Required skills: Tele interpretation, drip initiation/titration, strong assessment and critical thinking abilities
• Preferred skills: PIV insertion, chest tube management, blood product administration, continuous BiPap
• Must wear navy blue scrubs with no competing health system logos
• May require precepting of students and new hires in teaching hospital environment
• 40-mile radius rule applies - no local candidates accepted
