RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour day and night variable shifts (must be flexible with scheduling)
• Day shifts start at 5:00 AM, night shifts start at 5:00 PM
• 36 guaranteed hours per week over 13-week contract
• Every other weekend and holiday rotation required
• Float to like units as needed within critical access hospital setting
• On-call availability preferred due to low census with 30-minute response time
• Work independently in Med/Surg unit with ability to serve as back-up charge nurse
• Patient ratio up to 1:5, typically 1:3-4 with CNA support on both shifts
• Care for acute, observation, skilled care level, and same day surgical patients
• Occasionally care for pediatric patients on Med/Surg floor
• Staff choice scrub colors for Med/Surg unit
• 8-hour unbillable orientation provided
• Billing Monday through Sunday
• Required certifications: Iowa RN license, AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and AHA PALS
• Minimum 2+ years specialty experience with critical access hospital experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience strongly preferred
• EPIC charting experience preferred
• Associate degree or certificate required
• Must complete medical compliance within 48 hours of offer acceptance

Facility:

This 25-bed critical access hospital serves as an essential healthcare provider for the rural community, featuring a 20-bed Med/Surg unit and 4 LDRP rooms plus 1 post-partum/c-section prep room. The facility provides 24/7 emergency care and maintains an average daily census of 8-10 Med/Surg patients and approximately 85-90 deliveries per year. As a Level IV critical access hospital, it offers essential inpatient and outpatient services designed to ensure rural communities have access to quality healthcare close to home.
