RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend and holiday rotation required
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week for 13-week contract
• Patient ratio typically 4-5 patients on night shift
• Must have strong cardio/heart care experience with minimum 1+ years
• ICU nurses accepted if comfortable with patient ratios of 1:4-5
• Minimum 2+ years medical surgical experience required
• At least 1 travel contract completed preferred
• Must have short term acute care hospital experience
• Current Epic charting experience within 12 months required
• Must be comfortable with rhythm interpretation and familiar with routine cardiac care
• Care for patient populations including open heart surgical, arrhythmia, chest pain, cardiac procedural patients, heart failure, acute MI
• Unit also sees sepsis, respiratory failure, stroke, and medical overflow patients
• Float requirements to other facilities if needed based on census
• No on-call or call back requirements
• Required certifications: WI or Compact RN license, AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, NIHSS
• Any color scrubs allowed
• Associate degree or certificate required, bachelor's degree preferred
• Must be hard working, resilient, and manage change well

Facility:

This healthcare facility operates a 31-bed Heart Care Unit (HCU) that functions as an intermediate care unit providing specialized cardiac care. The facility treats a diverse range of patients including those with heart failure, post-cardiac surgery, pacemaker placements, ablations, TAVRs, cardiac catheterizations, myocardial infarctions, and hypertensive urgencies. The unit also manages patients with sepsis, respiratory failure, strokes, and serves as overflow for medical patients, demonstrating the facility's comprehensive approach to intermediate-level care.
