Pharmacist - Inpatient

Location: Kingman, Arizona
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Responsible for dispensing prescriptions and monitoring patient drug therapy in compliance with regulations and standards. Duties include medication order dispensing, IV admixture and sterile compounding, patient counseling, documenting interventions, providing drug information, and supervising support personnel.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Hospital Pharmacist license in Arizona
• Hospital Pharmacist experience within the last year
• 1 year of Hospital Pharmacist experience
• Experience in an inpatient setting
• BLS
• IV admixture
• Sterile compounding

Shift & Schedule

• Preferred night shift: 7 days on, 7 days off (Thursday to Wednesday)
• Night shift pharmacist will work alone with one night shift technician
• If not on night shift, rotating shifts between 6 AM and 10 PM with every other weekend required
• Typical shift length: 10 hours, 40 hours per week

Orientation & Training

• Approximately 2 weeks of training on computer systems and other equipment before starting shifts
• 12 hours of non-billable orientation; guaranteed hours do not apply during orientation

• Meditech Expanse EHR/BCMA
• Pyxis Enterprise System
• Pharmogistics™ carousel and perpetual inventory systems
• Pharmacy Keeper Remote Verification video check/documentation system
• Alaris Infusion System (LVP, Syringe, Epidural, PCA-ETCO2, SPO2 monitoring)
• Grifols USP 797/800 clean rooms (Inpatient and Cancer Center Infusion Satellite Pharmacy)
• Swisslog™ Pneumatic Tube System

Additional Information

• Hospital census: 130-150 patients per day
• Dress code: Business casual
• No floating to other units or departments
• Local candidates within 50 miles are not accepted
• Client may cancel up to one shift every two weeks
• Candidates should disclose any required time off during the assignment
• Prior travel experience is not specified or required for this role
