Job Overview

Required Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) license
• BLS certification
• Intermediate Care background
• Experience with IVs, drains, ostomies, wound vacs, NG tubes, and Foley catheters
• Experience titrating drips

Preferred Qualifications

• ACLS certification

Unit Details

• 29 beds
• Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:4 on days, 1:6 on nights
• Common patient types include abdominal surgeries, ear/nose/throat surgeries, complex wounds, and general medical patients
• Telemetry is monitored by techs; RNs are not required to read their own strips
• Charge nurse takes a smaller assignment
• Nurse aides are present on the unit
• Respiratory support equipment includes CPAP, BiPAP, Vapotherm, and occasional tracheostomy care; no vents

Schedule and Work Expectations

• Every other weekend required
• Every other holiday required
• No call
• Floating required to other med/surg units when the unit is overstaffed
• Block scheduling is not guaranteed
• Scrubs of any color are allowed

Orientation

• 12 hours of computer training
• 12 hours of shadowing

Additional Notes

• Submission must note if the clinician has ever worked for this facility
• If previously worked there, the end date must be at least 6 months before submission
• All clinicians must clock in and out at the facility
