Med Surg/Telemetry RN

Location

• Marshfield, Wisconsin

Contract Length

• 26 weeks

Shift

• 12-hour nights

Schedule

• Every other weekend
• Every other holiday
• May also work 48 hours

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Wisconsin
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• Intermediate Care experience
• Telemetry experience within the last year
• 1 year of telemetry experience
• Drain management
• Ostomy care
• Wound Vac management
• Titration of intravenous drips (Heparin, insulin, diltiazem, amiodarone, nitro)

Preferred Qualifications

• ACLS

Unit Details

• 29 beds
• Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:4 on days, 1:6 on nights
• Common patient types include abdominal surgeries, ear/nose/throat surgeries, complex wounds, and general medical patients
• Telemetry is monitored by techs; RNs are not required to read their own strips
• Charge nurse takes a smaller assignment
• Nurse aides are available
• Respiratory support includes CPAP, BiPAP, Vapotherm, and occasional tracheostomy care; no vents

Scheduling and Work Expectations

• No call requirement
• Floating may be required to other med/surg units if the unit is overstaffed
• Block scheduling is not guaranteed

Orientation

• 12 hours of computer training
• 12 hours of shadowing

Additional Notes

• Auto-offer process applies
• Candidates living within 80 miles are considered local
• Must clock in and out at the facility
• If previously worked there, the end date must be at least 6 months before submission
