Location

• Eau Claire, Wisconsin

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Schedule

• Day shift
• 10 hours per day
• 40 hours per week
• Start times range from 0900-1000
• End times range from 1830-1930

Required Qualifications

• Recent PACU experience: 1+ year
• ACLS (AHA)
• BLS (AHA)
• PALS (AHA)

Unit Details

• Covers both Phase 1 and Phase 2 recovery
• Common cases include ortho, spine, ENT, general, vascular, OB/Gyn, and plastics/urology
• ICU patients may recover in PACU
• RNs read strips
• Charge nurses take patients
• Nurse aides are shared across pre-op, post-op, and PACU areas

Call and Weekend Expectations

• Rotating holiday call
• Minimum 1 night of call per week, 1800-0600
• Minimum 1 weekend of call every 6 weeks, Friday 0600 to Monday 0600
• Call response time: 30 minutes

Floating

• May float to an attached outpatient surgery center for similar care of endoscopy, orthopedic, and pain clinic patients

Additional Notes

• Scrubs are provided; dedicated shoes are needed
• Unit orientation is 1-2 days
• Candidates living within 80 miles of the facility are considered local
• Must clock in and out at the facility
• If the clinician has ever worked for the facility, they must have an end date at least 6 months before submission
