Cath Lab Tech

Required Qualifications

Valid Cath Lab Technologist license in Kentucky
Cath Lab Technologist (1 year of experience)
Cath Lab Technologist experience within the last year
BLS
ACLS
KBMIRT
ARRT (R)
Associate's degree in Radiology or a related field

Job Responsibilities

Provides cardiovascular, endovascular, and neurovascular imaging and interventional procedure support
Assists physicians during diagnostic and interventional procedures, including permanent pacemaker/ICD implantation
Performs arterial/venous sheath removals and/or closure device support
Uses radiation safety practices, including ALARA
Performs and records quality control checks
Manages complications such as air emboli, stroke, anaphylaxis reactions, and cardiac tamponade

Additional Details

Annual education and validation tools are required for unit-specific competencies
Interventional procedure competency includes IABP/Impella, hemodynamic monitoring, aseptic technique, thrombectomy, stenting, angioplasty, IVUS, OCT, FFR, and structural heart procedures
