Registered Nurse — Progressive Care Unit, Nights

Job Overview

• Contract role in Carbondale, Illinois
• Night shift: 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• 36 hours per week
• Patient ratio: 4:1 on progressive care unit patients
• Every other weekend and holidays
• No on-call requirement
• Overtime is available
• Block schedules are not guaranteed, but preferred scheduling may be accommodated

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Illinois
• PCU - Progressive Care Unit (2 years of experience)
• PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
• BLS
• ACLS
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Clinical Setting

• Progressive care unit
• Cares for a wide variety of cardiac and respiratory patients

Key Responsibilities

• Assess patients’ mental, physical, and spiritual needs
• Plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care with the multidisciplinary team
• Provide explanations and instructions to patients or responsible persons
• Recognize and report changes in patient condition using nursing clinical judgment
• Support a healthy workplace environment through professional communication and conflict management
• Meet core measure responsibilities related to patient care
• Participate in continuing education
• Maintain complete and accurate medical records
