Radiologic Technologist - Computed Tomography

Job Overview

• Performs computerized tomographic radiological procedures under general supervision.
• May also perform general diagnostic radiology examinations.
• Works with outpatient, inpatient, and ER patients.

Schedule

• 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday
• Hours: 0600-1630
• No weekends
• No on-call
• No block scheduling

Required Qualifications

• CT Technologist experience within the last year
• 2 years of CT Technologist experience
• Experience working with Level 1 Trauma or Level 2 Trauma patients
• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• ARRT (CT)
• BLS

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examinations and explain procedures
• Review clinical data and obtain additional patient history as needed
• Set up equipment, perform CT scans, and control equipment to obtain diagnostic images
• Administer intravenous contrast media, including use of power injectors, and monitor for reactions
• Assist with sterile equipment setup and support complex sterile diagnostic procedures such as biopsies
• Apply radiation protection principles and ALARA techniques
• Manage PACS image exceptions and ensure image delivery
• Complete study indexing and documentation in RIS and the medical record

Work Environment

• May work in a hospital fixed unit or an ambulatory mobile unit
• May be exposed to radiation, high-voltage equipment, and potentially contagious patients
• May occasionally lift or move equipment and/or patients over 10 lbs
