ICU RN

Job Overview

• Contract assignment in Waimea, Hawaii
• ICU/CCU role in a 4-bed, 4-room unit
• 13-week contract
• Night/rotating schedule
• 80 hours every 2 weeks
• Must be open to working any shift

Patient Care Setting

• Provides care for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
• Serves surgical patients and patients with serious respiratory and/or cardiac conditions
• Patient ratio is 1:2 depending on acuity
• If one of two patients is on a ventilator, a second nurse will be called in
• May float to OB, MS, PACU, and ER based on competency
• Includes after-hours PACU recovery coverage

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Hawaii
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• CVICU experience with 2 years of experience
• CVICU experience within the last year
• ICU - Intensive Care Unit experience
• PACU - Post Anesthesia Care experience
• ED - Emergency Department experience
• BLS
• ACLS

Preferred Experience

• Emergency room experience recommended

Orientation

• Hospital orientation through HR and in-service
• Unit orientation with the nurse manager
• 1–2 day shifts and 1–2 night shifts with a staff RN
• Orientation/competency binder must be completed
