Contract

• 26 weeks
• 12-hour night shifts
• 36 hours per week

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license or confirmation that the application process has been initiated
• BLS
• NIHSS
• Level 1 trauma experience
• Previous travel experience
• Prior experience working on a dedicated neuro unit
• Experience titrating drips
• Heparin drip experience

Schedule

• Every other weekend
• Every other holiday
• No call or standby requirement

Unit Details

• 54-bed unit
• Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:4-5 on days, 1:5-6 on nights
• Charge nurse and house supervisor available 24/7
• House-wide telemetry; nurses do not need to read strips
• High-flow support used rarely for stable COVID patients

Floating

• Float in rotation with the rest of the staff
• When floated outside the general unit, work only within skills competency and with a nurse trained for that unit

Orientation

• 2 days of orientation, including computer and unit-specific training with an educator and preceptor

Submission Requirements

• Last four digits of SSN
• Middle initial
• Requested time off

Additional Notes

• Local placements accepted within a 50-mile radius
• Local rate adjustment applies for clinicians with permanent addresses within 50 miles
• Negative drug screen required
• Tattoos must be covered while on duty
• No piercings besides ears
• No scrub color requirement
