Description

Special Procedures Technician

Job Overview

Temp position
Day shift
10-hour shifts
40 hours per week
Rotating weekday and weekend call
Must live at least 100 miles away from the facility

Required Qualifications

Valid Special Procedures Technologist license in District of Columbia
3 years of Special Procedures Technologist experience
Special Procedures Technologist experience within the last year
ARRT or RCIS
BLS
ACLS
Completion of an AMA-sponsored school of radiologic technology program

Key Responsibilities

Perform special procedures and imaging examinations using established protocols
Assist radiologists during imaging procedures using sterile technique
Monitor, assist, transport, and educate patients before, during, and after exams
Provide first aid and CPR when necessary
Reconstruct, archive, and transfer images and related information
Operate imaging equipment according to manufacturer specifications
Perform quality control and maintain required records
Complete and correct orders in the required systems
May place PICC lines in the interventional lab if certified
