Description
Registered Nurse — Med Surg
Location
- Peoria, Illinois
Contract
- 15 weeks
- 36 hours per week
- 12-hour day shifts
Required Qualifications
- Active Illinois RN license or confirmation that the application process has been initiated
- BLS
- Must be able to produce a negative drug screen for all panels
Experience / Skills
- PEG tube care and feedings
- CVC, PICC, and midline usage and care
- Tracheostomy patient care
- Ability to titrate drips
Schedule
- Every other weekend and as needed to fill holes
- Holiday rotation and as needed to fill holes
Unit Details
- 10-bed med-surg unit
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:5
- Nurse aides/patient care techs available at a 1:10 ratio
- House supervisor available 24/7
- Respiratory equipment is managed by respiratory therapy
- Telemetry is monitored by a monitor tech in the ICU
- Qualified med-surg nurses may float to ICU and occasionally to Acute Rehab
Additional Notes
- Local placements are accepted within a 50-mile radius
- Scrubs only; any color is allowed
- 12 hours of classroom orientation plus 2 shifts on the unit with a preceptor
- Non-billable orientation hours: 12 hours
