Stepdown/MedSurg RN

Location

Fairmont, West Virginia

Contract

13 weeks
Nights
12-hour shifts
36 hours per week

Required Qualifications

RN license
BLS
ACLS
Stepdown experience
Must submit a copy of an unexpired driver’s license
Licensing hits must be disclosed at submission

Unit Details

Stepdown/Med Surg unit
20 beds
Ratios: Stepdown 1:3; floor 1:5–6
Common patient types include respiratory issues, weakness, UTI, AKI, and chest pain
RNs are required to titrate drips
Common drips include heparin, insulin, Cardizem, and amiodarone
Nurse aides are present, with 2 per shift
Respiratory equipment includes CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow support
Telemetry is monitored
Charge coverage is by a house supervisor

Scheduling

3 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
Holidays rotate between evening or day shifts
No call or standby
No floating

Orientation

Unit-specific orientation is provided

Dress Code

Royal blue scrubs
