Description
Registered Respiratory Therapist
Location
- Fargo, North Dakota
Contract
- 13 weeks
- 36 hours per week
- 12-hour day/night rotating shifts
- Every other weekend and rotating holidays
Specialty
- NICU/PICU respiratory therapy
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent respiratory therapist experience
- Experience in NICU and/or PICU patient populations
- Level IV NICU experience, including high-frequency ventilation (Jet & HFOV), nitric oxide, high-risk deliveries, and gestational ages 22 weeks and above
- Ventilator experience with micro preemies in a Level IV NICU
- BLS (AHA)
- NRP
- PALS (AHA)
- North Dakota respiratory therapist license, or willingness to apply within 72 hours of offer acceptance
Preferred
- ACLS
Work Setting
- Inpatient respiratory therapy care
- Level IV NICU, PICU, pediatric, adult ICU, and emergency department exposure
Key Duties
- Respiratory therapy assessments and protocols
- Arterial punctures and blood gas analysis
- Ventilator and noninvasive ventilation management
- Medication delivery and airway clearance
- Assist with intubations, tracheostomy changes, decannulation, and extubations
- Emergency response support, ICU rounds, and intrahospital transport
- Support for high-risk deliveries
Schedule / Staffing
- Will not work alone
- Opportunity to pick up extra shifts
- May train to another campus if needed
Orientation
- Lab orientation with respiratory therapy education staff
- Preceptor shifts with unit respiratory therapists
Additional Notes
- Candidate must be able to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Must badge in and out
- Scrub color: steel gray for Peds/PICU or blue hospital-provided scrubs for NICU
