CT Technologist

Location: Rockford, Illinois

Schedule

• 4 night shifts per week, 9 hours each
• Weekend, on-call, and holiday rotation required
• May need to alternate shifts, take call, flex hours, and work overtime as needed

Required Qualifications

• Valid CT Technologist license in Illinois
• CT Technologist (2 years of experience)
• CT Technologist experience within the last year
• ARRT (R)
• ARRT (CT)
• BLS
• Graduate of an accredited radiography program

Key Responsibilities

• Perform computed tomography procedures and related techniques
• Administer x-radiation to produce diagnostic images for physician interpretation
• Perform diagnostic CT procedures
• If assigned radiographer duties, also perform radiographic, fluoroscopic, surgical, and portable radiographic exams
• Corroborate patient clinical history with the procedure and ensure documentation is available for the radiologist
• Prepare patients for procedures and provide instructions
• Select and operate imaging equipment, image capture devices, and accessories
• Position and immobilize patients as needed
• Use aseptic technique as necessary
• Prepare and administer contrast media as appropriate and start/maintain IV access
• Initiate basic life support when necessary
• Provide patient education
• Support supply and equipment decisions and maintain inventory
• Provide practical instruction for students and partners
• Follow universal protocol, standard precautions, and patient identification procedures
• Apply patient safety principles during procedures, including assisting and transporting patients
