Registered Nurse, Operating Room

Location: Gardner, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Contract
Shift: 40-hour day schedule, 4/10-hour days with call rotation
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Massachusetts
• OR - Operating Room (1 year of experience)
• OR - Operating Room experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Experience

• Operating room nursing experience is strongly preferred
• CNOR is strongly preferred

Key Responsibilities

• Provide perioperative nursing care, including assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, documentation, and patient/family teaching
• Safely administer medications and intravenous therapy
• Collaborate with the surgical team during procedures
• Maintain sterile technique, aseptic practice, and proper handling of supplies, instruments, specimens, and cultures
• Verify patient identity, consent, procedure, and surgical site before surgery
• Maintain sponge, needle, and instrument counts
• Support patient safety, privacy, confidentiality, and compliance with hospital policies and regulations
