Location

• Peoria, Illinois

Contract

• 15 weeks
• Days, 12-hour shifts
• 36 hours per week

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license or confirmation that the application process has been initiated
• BLS certification (AHA)
• Last four digits of SSN
• Clinician middle initial
• Requested time off
• Negative drug screen for all panels

Experience / Skills

• General medical background
• Preferred: nephrology or urology background

Unit Details

• Nephrology unit with 21 beds
• Patient ratio: 1:4-5 on days; 1:5-6 on nights
• Bedside report and 1-2 hour rounding required
• Overhead lift equipment in all rooms

Schedule

• 3x12 shifts
• Self-scheduling available
• Block scheduling considered
• Every other weekend
• Every other holiday

Responsibilities

• No titrating drips required
• No call shifts
• Telemetry is monitored by a separate tech team; nurses do not read or interpret strips
• RN administers inhalers

Floating

• May float to other general medical units
• May occasionally float as sitter support or to the ED/ICUs as help-all support

Dress Code

• Any color scrubs
• No artificial nails, gel nails, chipped polish, visible tattoos, or piercings
• Females may wear one pair of simple earrings

Orientation

• 3 days with a preceptor

Additional Notes

• Local placements accepted within a 50-mile radius
• Local clinicians receive an adjusted rate
• 12 hours of non-billable orientation time
• Call-off policy: equivalent of 12 hours every 13 weeks with no penalty
