RN Centralized Registry Float

Overview

• Role: RN Centralized Registry Float
• Location: Fort Wayne, Indiana
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Nights
• Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
• Weekend requirement: 3 weekend shifts in 4 weeks
• Patient ratio: 1:5-6

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Indiana
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• 1 year of float experience within the last year
• 1 year of experience at a large hospital with 450+ beds

Unit / Assignment Details

• General medical and surgical units
• Floats only to other medical units
• Uses Epic charting
• Unit equipment includes pyxis machines, Accucheck blood glucose, hospira IV pumps, SCDs, heating/cooling pads, telemetry monitoring, wound vacs, feeding pumps, feeding tubes, chest tubes, and IV pumps

Clinical Focus

• General medical-surgical nursing care
• Common patient populations include chronic illness, GI issues, infections, neurological issues, and mental health disorders
• Procedures may include colonoscopies, thora and paracentesis, bronchoscopy, and minor surgeries such as lap chole, incision and drainage, biopsies, and amputation

Orientation

• Jump Start orientation includes 1 day of general hospital orientation and approximately 5 days of nursing orientation
• Epic classes are included

Additional Notes

• Local clinicians within 50 miles are subject to a 12% reduction in regular bill rate
• Client may call off or cancel up to 24 hours per 13-week assignment
• 8 hours of non-billable orientation
• Caribbean Blue scrubs
