MedSurg 5S RN (Registered Nurse)

Savannah, Georgia

Assignment Details

• 3x12-hour night shifts
• Length of assignment: 13–14 weeks, depending on start date
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 5–6 to 1
• Weekend requirement: 6 weekend shifts per 12 weeks
• Orientation is weekly; Monday starts only, or Tuesday if Monday is a holiday

Unit / Patient Population

• MedSurg unit with a wide variety of patients
• Patient types include Med-Surg, Sickle Cell, heart failure, vascular, pulmonary, diabetes, and failure to thrive
• Charge nurse takes assignment
• Nursing aides on the unit with 12–1 ratios
• RT equipment includes nasal, face masks, and bipap

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Georgia
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• 2 years of Med Surg experience
• Med Surg experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous travel experience is strongly preferred
• Broader MedSurg experience is preferred

• Current references within the same specialty/modality as the role
• Resume must include number of beds and trauma level for all facilities worked within the past 3 years
• Resume must include employment type for each role
• Resume must include number of shifts worked per month if PRN

Scheduling / Placement Notes

• Block scheduling is not guaranteed
• Strict 100-mile radius rule: local candidates are not accepted
• Quick starts must be approved prior to placement
• Recruiter is responsible for submitting the quick start request
