Infusion RN

Overview

• Contract role in Mauston, Wisconsin.
• Full-time day shift: Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4:00pm.
• 13-week contract.
• 36 hours per week.

Role Summary

Provides specialized nursing care for patients receiving intravenous and injectable therapies, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, biologic agents, blood products, and other medications.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Wisconsin.
• Infusion experience within the last year.
• 1 year of infusion experience.
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN preferred).

Key Responsibilities

• Assess patients before, during, and after treatments.
• Review medical history, laboratory results, and treatment orders.
• Monitor vital signs and patient response during treatment.
• Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other IV and injectable medications.
• Access and manage vascular devices including ports, PICC lines, and central lines.
• Follow protocols for safe handling of hazardous drugs.
• Calculate dosages and infusion rates accurately.
• Monitor for adverse reactions or complications such as allergic reactions or extravasation.
• Provide emergency intervention when needed.
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, side effects, symptom management, infection prevention, and self-care.
• Support patients emotionally throughout therapy.
• Collaborate with providers, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals.
• Document treatment administration, patient responses, and side effects in electronic medical records.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and clinic policies.
