6W Neuro MedSurg RN

Location

Morgantown, West Virginia

Contract Length

13 weeks

Schedule

Nights, 12 hours per shift, 36 hours per week
Weekend requirement varies by schedule; holidays are part of the rotation

Unit Details

6 WEST - Neuro
20 beds total, with 14 floor beds
Patient ratio: 1:5-6 for floor patients
Charge nurse available 24/7
Nurse aides on unit: 3 per shift
Telemetry is on the unit, but RNs do not read strips

Common Patient Population

Neurosciences
DBS (Deep Brain Stimulators)
Stroke
Seizures
Surgical/PostOp Spines
Neurological Disorders

Required Qualifications

BLS
NIHSS, and it must be in hand at time of submission
Strong Neuro experience
Proficiency and frequency with G-tubes
Recent Epic experience
RN license

Preferred Qualifications

ACLS

Floating

May float first to 7E, 7W, 7NE, or 10E
May then be floated to the rest of the hospital if needed

Additional Notes

Travelers need to be flexible
Scrub color: any combination of white and royal blue
Orientation: 1 shift on the unit
RT is available 24/7
Floor vents are managed by RT and physician; RN vent experience is not required
