RN — Women’s Services L&D

Overview

• 13-week travel assignment in Nampa, Idaho
• Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, 48 hours per week
• Department: L&D | RN
• Unit details: 14 L&D beds, 2 C-section OR suites, 4 triage beds

Required Qualifications

• RN license
• 3 years of L&D experience
• Experience with mother baby
• Experience attending deliveries
• Experience completing 1 hour of newborn care
• Experience with triage
• Experience circulating C/S
• Experience providing Postpartum Couplet Care
• Experience with magnesium
• Ability to titrate drips
• ACLS
• BLS
• NRP
• STABLE

Preferred Qualifications

• Charge nurse experience
• 1 year of mother baby experience

Clinical Setting

• Patients include 32 weeks gestation and greater, HTN on magnesium, BACs, TOLACs, some gestational diabetes, and antepartum patients
• Does not take placenta previa or placenta accreta
• Labor staffing follows AWHONN standards
• Postpartum ratio is 1:3 couplets care
• Triage ratio is 1:3, with a resource nurse used if census reaches 4

Staffing and Support

• OB hospitalist and neonatal NP are in house 24/7
• Anesthesia is in house 24/7
• RT is available for troubleshooting
• No tele techs on the unit
• Charge RNs do not take an assignment
• Resource RN attends all deliveries and helps with breaks
• 1 CST per shift
• 1 CNA is scheduled per shift, but coverage may be affected by HUC sick calls

Floating

• May float to all St. Lukes Treasure Valley sites in primary skill set (L&D/Mother Baby) or as a sitter
• Floating is for full shifts only

Scheduling and Orientation

• No call required
• No minimum weekend requirement
• No set holiday requirement for travel RNs
• No guaranteed block scheduling
• 4 shifts of unit orientation

Additional Notes

• Hospital-issued scrubs are required
• No acrylic or gel nails allowed
• First-time traveler accepted
