Travel assignment for a Radiation Therapist in Show Low, Arizona.

Schedule

Required Qualifications

• ARRT
• BLS
• 2+ years of experience
• Active AZ license
• Current AZ State CTT Radiation Therapist certification

Work Setting

• Regional hospital in the White Mountains of Arizona

Clinical Responsibilities

• Administer external beam radiation therapy according to physician prescription
• Perform startup procedures for the linear accelerator and simulator
• Perform morning QA and document deviations
• Perform conventional and CT simulations
• Fabricate immobilization devices and custom blocking
• Mount compensators and 3D compensators
• Prepare patients for treatment based on simulation documentation
• Complete photon and electron block fabrication
• Perform Field QA for IMRT and compensator fields
• Document patient setup and communicate deviations or problems to the physician
• Complete daily treatment according to physician order and treatment plan
• Perform weekly portal imaging or IGRT as directed
• Shift patients as directed by the physician
• Maintain patient appointments within 5 minutes of scheduled time
• Schedule appointments and submit billing
• Interact with dosimetry and retrieve DRRs, calculations, and treatment plans
• Attach treatment plans to the patient electronic chart
• Verify accuracy of recorded information and required documentation
• Notify the physician if documentation is missing or inaccurate
• Perform weekly chart checks
• Assist MD with on-treatment visits
• Document height and weight
• Order inventory and supplies and maintain stock rooms
• Participate in chart rounds and tumor boards
• Follow radiation safety practices and report machine malfunctions

Physical Demands

• Heavy physical demands
• May involve lifting up to 100 lbs occasionally, 50 lbs frequently, and 20 lbs constantly
• Exposure to chemicals and infectious fluids
• Constant standing, extensive close work, extensive computer work, and contact with upset or disturbed individuals
