2W Pre/Post Day Surgery RN

2W Pre/Post Day Surgery
70 beds total
Recovery areas provide both Phase 1 and Phase 2 care

Required Qualifications

RN
1 year of experience
BLS, ACLS, and PALS, all AHA

Preferred Qualifications

Clinical Details

Common cases include Ortho, ENT, Ophthalmology, GYN, Urology, Endoscopy, Bronchoscopy, and Podiatry
ICU patients recover in PACU
RNs read strips
EMR: EPIC

Schedule

3 x 12-hour shifts
Monday-Friday, day/evening
No night shifts
No weekend shifts
Rotate winter and summer holidays
12-hour call requirement per 4-week schedule period
1-hour call response time

Float Scope

Pre/Post on 5North and 6North as needed

Staffing / Unit Support

Goal is a free charge nurse, but the charge nurse will take an assignment if needed
House supervisor available at all times
Perioperative Care Assistants on the unit, with 1:7 ratios

Orientation

Up to 3 shifts
