Cardiac Cath RN

Overview

• Location: Bloomington, Illinois
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Days
• Hours: 40 per week
• Department: Pre/Post Angio
• Unit size: 6 pre/post beds
• Average cases per day: 4–6

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Illinois
• Cardiac Cath Lab (2 years of experience)
• Cardiac Cath Lab experience within the last year
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Ability to read telemetry strips
• Ability to titrate drips
• Pre/Post Cath Lab experience

Preferred

• Experience with peripheral angio cases
• Experience with IR
• Experience with neuro intervention

Clinical Setting

• Common patient types include STEMI, stroke, drain placement, line placement, all heart caths, peripheral angios, IVC placement, temporary pacemaker insertion, TEE's, cardioversions, and EP studies
• Charge nurse takes an assignment sometimes
• Cath Lab Techs: Yes
• 12-hour shifts; may need to stay late depending on cases
• Unit orientation is usually 1 week, or 4 shifts
• Hospital scrubs provided

• Negative drug screen for all panels
